ABSTRACT

The distribution of clay tobacco pipes represents casual losses over the site, but there are larger concentrations of fragments to the north-west of the church and in the northernmost trench, in areas where there was evidence for post-medieval activity. With the exception of two late 19th-early 20th century fragments, the material can be dated to the 17th and 18th centuries. There is a full listing of clay pipe fragments in the site archive. There are eight bowls of note (CP1-CP8).
