ABSTRACT

SUMMARY: Archaeology in Bermuda is run through the Bermuda Maritime Museum and the Bermuda National Trust. While the archaeological programmes of these two organizations are managed by local archaeologists, they both owe a huge debt to a number of North American and English institutions, whose collaborative efforts not only led to their formation, but which also continue to play an integral part in archaeological research on Bermuda today. This article highlights the evolution of archaeology and heritage management in Bermuda, with a complete listing of terrestrial excavations and publications.
