ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book outlines many important contributions to Bermuda's archaeological scholarship and draws attention to the future challenges of the archaeological and heritage sectors on the island. The book reports the acquisition of the site, the director of the National Museum, Edward Harris, with the aid of a committed group of volunteers led by members of the museum board in the process employing the latest techniques of digital recording. It highlights the work of Piotr Bojakowski and Katie Custer who have joined the museum: Piotr Bojakowski as the National Museum's new underwater archaeologist and conservator, and his wife Katie, as a volunteer in the existing Corange Conservation Laboratory. The book explores the terrestrial archaeology on Bermuda started in St George's, a number of projects sponsored by the Archaeological Research Committee of the Bermuda National Trust.
