ABSTRACT
The program situates students in cultural difference and aims to offer a supportive environment to interact and engage in dialogue and encourage critical self-reflection that connects experiences in the program with the greater whole of their collegiate experience, professional aspirations, and personal goals. Global Engagement Student Advisory Board mandate was to create programming, raise awareness, and serve as an advocating body for cross-cultural interaction. Overseen by the Assistant Director and supported with two student assistants or Global Ambassadors, the program matches international and domestic business students for a semester-long program to foster friendships across cultures and provide opportunity for reflection on racial and ethnic identity. The institution must support the program by committing ample resources, especially staffing. The structured social events provide opportunities for the Assistant Director and Ambassadors to remind students to refer to the prompts and to provide additional ideas for meaningful conversations.
