HEALTHIER IN VITRO FERTILIZATION CHILDREN FOLLOWING SINGLE-EMBRYO TRANSFER e health of children born aer in vitro fertilization (IVF) has been followed up since the beginning of clinical infertility treatment. In the beginning, the numbers of children were small, but then national and international registers were established. Accumulated data showed that children born as a result of IVF had a higher risk of abnormalities when compared to conventionally born children, as described in a review article by Edwards and Ludwig (1). e risk ratio of having some abnormality was 1.2-1.4 in the reviewed literature.
