ABSTRACT

The Dutch people are a mixture of Europeans and people from the colonies who chose to migrate to Holland because the standard of living is higher. The families that became the victims of our economic problems mostly have a large number of children to feed. These children often have problems with the Dutch language and with the Dutch way of life. In the big cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague, it is no exception to find schools with only 10% Dutch children. Our school system is a mirror of our history. Siffels and van Beek, Jan Bart Hertroys and Wim Kersten and van der Meer have all given some pointers on how to deal with the phenomenon of bullying. In Erling Rolands's study he found that both bullies and victims have fewer close friends than those not involved in bullying and that bullies were no more popular in that sense than victims.
