ABSTRACT

The article is aimed at presenting the current engineering approaches in control of small turbojet engines in laboratory conditions. The experimental object in this research is represented by a small turbojet engine iSTC-21, which is used to develop new approaches in control of turbojet engines in this engine class. The framework control concept in this case is the methodology of situational control used in order to obtain efficient operation of this engine using multiple controllers. The main advantage of the system is that it is highly integrated with a diagnostic system. We further present novel approaches in design of controllers for start-up of the engine and acceleration control using adaptive methodologies and methods of computational intelligence.
