ABSTRACT

Using GIS technology and basin method can solve the problem of studying the structure of soil cover by interpolation and geo-modeling. The purpose of research—to build a soil map of the reserve “Basegi”. The composition of the reserve includes Basegi ridge stretching from north to south. Electronic maps relief, vegetation, hydrographic network of rivers and their structure elements were compiled. Processing of cartographic material, data analysis was conducted on the basis of geographic information system MapInfo Professional. Using information technology and the generalized spatial analysis, the basic patterns of change of the factors of soil formation in space were established. The soil cover was represented: brown soils, gley, mucky-gley, petrozemy, podbuy, litozemy, alluvial. Geo-modeling of soil cover allowed to make a soil map of the reserve. Thus, the study of relationships of elements of geosystems, allows to simulate structure of soil cover over a large area, especially in inaccessible remote areas.
