ABSTRACT

Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) has been widely used in the medical field. In this study, the EIT technology was used to measure the concentration distribution in the dredge pipeline, which has the advantage of being noninvasive, cheap, safe, non-toxic, simple to operate and rich in information. A set of EIT system was designed and developed independently by the project team, which includes excitation power supply, measuring system, and inversion algorithm based on the Newton–Raphson method. The developed system was tested indoors in a DN300 model tube with a fine sand concentration of 21%, salinity of 3.5%, and temperature of 20°. The results of the study indicate that the system can invert the concentration distribution in the DN300 model tube, with the inversion precision of the system being about 5%. Therefore, the EIT system has a very high application value.
