ABSTRACT

Technology at the time of writing is one of the largest industries in the world, and the internet and its accompanied software and services accounted for 25% of the net profit margin of all industries in 2016, as reported by Forbes. The increases are not only attributed to a decrease in node size, but are also a result of processing advances, such as the hyper-scaling technology introduced in the 10 nm node. It has, however, inspired great change and innovation in the computing industry, and looking back in history, many advances have contributed to sustaining, or surpassing, Moore's law. Intel Corporation is determined to keep implementing Moore's law as a figure of merit for current and future-generation processors. Many critics have viewed Intel's progress in architecture and speed gains as lacking, claiming that improvements have been incremental.
