ABSTRACT

The Mini international neuropsychiatric interview (MINI)-6 is a structured clinical interview that covers major diagnostic categories for psychiatric disorders and is a valuable screening tool that can facilitate rapid diagnosis. The McLean Screening Instrument for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a validated interview protocol with good sensitivity and specificity for detecting BPD with a high degree of accuracy. The Balanced Inventory of Desirable Responding (BIDR) is a well-known and well-validated measure of socially desirable responding that captures the extent to which respondents exaggerate their positive qualities and minimise their negative qualities. The Clinical Anger Scale (CAS) measures clinically significant anger in the respondent. The Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) provides 40 items where a 'narcissistic' response may be given, or a non-narcissistic response may be given. The Brief Histrionic Personality Scale (BHPS) is a recently-developed instrument for identifying individuals with histrionic personality characteristics, and has so far been normed on student data.
