ABSTRACT
Contemporary artists have expanded metalpoint beyond anything imagined in the Renaissance. This chapter discusses the ways that figuration, abstraction, and conceptual art have changed the medium; the work of over 40 artists is discussed along with images of their works, including Joseph Stella, Paul Cadmus, Jasper Johns, John Wilde, Paula Gerard, Marjorie Williams Smith, Linda Hutchins, and Victor Koulbak.
