ABSTRACT
On her first morning back in the office, Deena had to deal with all the usual fire-fighting that piles up after vacation. She was also determined to put into action what she had learned during her break. She was now convinced that there had to be a better way to run her business, if for no other reason than her company’s continued mediocre earnings and the growing business risks related to its social and environmental problems. At 10 am, she reached for the phone and placed a carefully thought-out call to Janice asking her to come in to discuss a possible rehiring opportunity. Deena knew that without Janice’s knowledge and vision it would be difficult to move her team forward on sustainability.
