ABSTRACT

The central research questions will be formulated; the experiments with employee participation will be described; the results will be presented; and, finally, recommendations will be given to improve the role of employees in environmental strategie. The environmental campaigns were successful in relation to their impact on Corporate Environmental Awareness, Intended Corporate Environmental Behaviour and Corporate Environmental Behaviour. In nearly every environmental campaign we see a difference between pre- and post-measurement, indicating that most campaigns have a positive influence on the way employees deal with the environment. All things considered, we can state that environmental campaigns do contribute, in a small way, to increasing the sensitivity of employees towards the environment. Given the small effort these campaigns require, it is reasonable to state that the cost-benefit comparison balances out positively for environmental campaigns. Environmental policies must be seen as a top-down measure, but as a series of decisions that must rely on the support of everyone within the company.
