ABSTRACT
The comparison is guided by the seven steps, explained above, for developing environmental training. The GEC Management College Environmental Training Pack is as described above. The company is actually in the process of developing an environmental training programme for the whole company, which will start in January 1996. The eight British and German based firms described above have each developed their own environmental training system. The German companies analysed, in general, offer wide-ranging environmental training as an integral part of their in-house training programme. In Germany, companies are used to offering environmental training of longer duration than in the UK, and they offer a wider range of environmental training. In Recent Years, environmental training has become an increasingly important topic for companies in the UK and Germany as environmental issues now feature prominently on their strategic agendas. In the world of business, many changes are taking place that are influencing organisations.
