ABSTRACT

This chapter explores a ways to educate managers so they become responsible, the core of Principle 3 of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), and found a way to it via developing their sustainability mind-set. The findings that comprise the sustainability mind-set seem to be at the foundation of behaviours that correspond with responsible management. Thus they can become learning or developmental objectives for programmes that seek to develop responsible managers. Blended learning is defined here as the combination of instructional methods, face-to-face sessions and online self-directed activity. The holistic learning outcomes identified for developing a sustainability mind-set for responsible managers include personal development aspects that have not traditionally been considered in business schools. The learning outcomes to develop the sustainable mind-set that makes for responsible managers pertain to the cognitive, attitudinal and experiential areas. Responsible management education (RME) is a term that is increasingly present in academic research, publications and forums.
