On the Contemporary History of Experimental Evaluations and Its Relevance for Policy Making

Psychologist Franz Brentano wrote the fi rst textbook about empirical and experimental psychology in 1874, while his colleague Wilhelm Wundt opened the fi rst laboratory for experimental psychological research at Leipzig University in 1879. Without doubt, these founding fathers of social science research were actively involved in producing (empirical) evidence.
