ABSTRACT

We have recently designed a 24-hr point economy ward to prepare delinquent soldiers for successful completion of their regular tour of duty in the Army. A distinctive feature of this ward is its use of an information system for measuring patient behavior in which individual and group earnings and spendings are used as the primary data measurement. This paper describes the development and operation of the measurement system and emphasizes its use by the staff in the treatment process. 1
