ABSTRACT

The preceding chapters depict remarkable changes in the domestic economic policies and foreign economic ties of the three Giants. The geopolitical situation in the world, and particularly in Asia, has changed dramatically, and many aspects of each Giant’s foreign policy have been radically revised. These changes pose questions as to whether new geopolitical interests derive from the economic reforms under way in the Soviet Union, China, and India, and whether it is possible to project shifts in geopolitics on the basis of economic policy trends.
