ABSTRACT

The Pragmatic Pathfinder Inquiry (PPI) process used in the F. B. Nahser Corporantes Pathfinder Notebook is based on the work of the 19th century American philosopher, Charles S. Peirce. Initially called practicalism, but later this theory became known as Pragmatism, the so-called "Classic American Philosophy." Nahser contends that the signs that Peirce mentioned can provide a narrative for investigation, interpretation, and action as part of the PPI. This narrative when recorded in the Corporantes Notebook provides a way for people to discover and tell their stories and exchange their beliefs, based on and discovered through life experiences. The Pragmatic Inquiry provides a method of inquiry, discovery, interpretation, and action for each student to inquiry about herself and/or the corporate culture she is investigating. To begin the Pragmatic Inquiry the students are asked to consider the three key elements of a career: "Personal, The Market, and The Corporation" in relationship with each other as structured for business career investigation.
