ABSTRACT

This chapter attempts to prove that human involvement in strategic management is a key factor for successful Alima-Gerber operations. Alima-Gerber represents one of the first examples of privatized capital in Poland. The greatest challenge for a successful organization is change and uncertainty accompanying it. Therefore, a company develops its strategy which provides a way to deal with change. Organizations are founded for a purpose. It is vital that stakeholders understand the reason for the company's existence, that is, the company's mission. Before managers can devise an effective strategy, they need to analyze the organization's competitive situation. Such an assessment can be made with SWOT analysis. Strategies not only must be well formulated to match environmental opportunities and threats, but also must be carried out effectively to assure an organization's success. Strategic implementation requires managers to consider two aspects: organizational structure and corporate culture.
