ABSTRACT

Looking at trademarks on various products and promotional materials one does not realize their tremendous impact on our life. This is because the role of trademarks is mostly abstract and symbolic and for that reason difficult to take in through the usual, practical reasoning. In examining the development of trademarks it is important to remember that trademarks first originate in the corporate culture of the companies which has a direct impact on their future image and prominence. In fact many American trademarks were created by the founders of the companies or by the people involved in that kind of business for many years. The creation of the noble society in the fourteenth century had a tremendous impact on the development of Polish trademarks. The companies are so concerned about protecting their trademarks that they frequently forget that they themselves cross the legal and ethical norms.
