ABSTRACT

This chapter covers the techniques and criteria for analyzing a multitask job based on a daily cycle or turnover, using a specially designed Excel worksheet: multi-task jobs with daily cycles. It shows the results of an intrinsic posture analysis for each identified task. The chapter shows the worksheets into which, as for a standard OCcupational Repetitive Actions (OCRA) checklist, the number and duration of breaks and the nonrepetitive tasks present in the shift are entered, in order to obtain the net duration of the repetitive work. It presents the results of the risk assessment produced using the OCRA checklist for the study of biomechanical overload of the upper limbs. The chapter describes the proportional distribution of the various back and leg postures as a whole. It presents the new risk exposure scores both for the OCRA checklist and for the spine and lower limbs.
