ABSTRACT

Environmental sustainability has become a hot topic in education. Universities gradually spend more efforts in educating students for sustainable development in the environment. This preliminary study aims to explore environmental attitudes and behaviours of undergraduate students who study environmental science as a major in a local government-funded university in Hong Kong. A total of 33 undergraduate students participated in a survey. Key findings of the study including environmental attitudes and behaviours are presented. Significant differences in environmental attitudes and behaviours are also explored in the variables such as gender, participation in environmental-related activities, and so on. Implications about environmental education in university education will be discussed in the chapter.
