ABSTRACT

Digital publishing is of growing importance for magazines, whether print-biased or electronic, although there is as yet no infallible formula for success. This chapter looks at the past, present and possible future of magazines in the digital sphere and offers practical advice about the digital skills a twenty-first century magazine journalist will need to develop for a long-lasting career – skills that must complement the essential underlying aptitude of any journalist: the ability to find and tell a strong story.
