ABSTRACT

News in magazines spans all kinds of writing – current affairs, investigative reporting, special interest stories for consumer or B2B titles, product launches. There are conventions in UK news style originally developed for newspapers but remaining relevant for web and social media writing. In general, news style in magazines is less rigid as their content and tone is so varied. Journalists are encouraged to strive for objectivity but in reality this is impossible to achieve. Much journalistic writing is based on interviews.
