ABSTRACT
The main operation principle of magnetic sensors based on GMR
or TMR effects is related to their capability to transform linearly
(or abruptly) the external magnetic field value into the voltage.
These capabilities gave raise to one of the most important and
direct applications of spintronic devices: magnetic fields sensing.
Technically sophisticated (based on a few elements directed along
three axes) sensors are even capable of tracking both absolute value
and direction of the local magnetic field.
