ABSTRACT

Qualitatively similar method of “hearing RTN” has been

applied to detect and analyze the spin torque acting on DW

motion in magnetic tunnel junctions with perpendicular

to the ferromagnetic lead current (Herranz et al., 2011).

Critical current densities for the vertical-current-induced

domain-wall motion in elliptic MgO-based magnetic tunnel

junctions were found to be orders of magnitude smaller

than for DW motion in lateral geometries. Interestingly,

similar effects have been independently reported through

direct transportmeasurements in specially designed curved

MTJs (Chanthbouala et al., 2011).
