ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors provide their responses to philosopher and other authors to read the Position Statements. The philosopher and other authors are Freya Mathews, Jerome Gellman, Charles Taliaferro and Bede Benjamin Bidlack. According to Mathews, panpsychism can address the issues effectively since "panpsychism, at least according to certain readings, can navigate difference inasmuch as it can serve as a base for different religions". Gellman talks about secular atheists, he seems to use a condescending tone which is best avoided. Taliaferro provides a historical overview of classical Christian theistic vision, with a special emphasis on Anselm's conception of God and the arguments against the existence of such a God that have been offered by philosophers of religion. Bidlack confines himself to the Daoist school of Gold Mountain, for there are many Daoist schools and, as he notes, it would be difficult to talk about Daoism as if one could speak for all these varied schools.
