ABSTRACT

[abstract: In response to the World Health Organization’s invitation to talk openly about anxious feelings and depression, this chapter examines the coexistence between spirituality and anxiety through the lives of two women. Employing a transpersonal framework and a phenomenological research methodology, this pilot study reports on spiritual experience, encounters with anxiety, moments of heightened anxiety and essential insights into caring for and encountering the deep self. The findings inform the fields of psychotherapy, spiritual counselling, and holistic education. ]
