ABSTRACT

[abstract: Ninety percent of the population of Thailand is Buddhist. Centuries ago, temples and monks pioneered Thai education. However, the current role of Buddhism in the Thai education system is only one subject in the compulsory national curriculum. This article will present experimental research for developing the Buddhist principles value based curriculum and pedagogy in the 20 best Buddhist approach public schools by using the Roong Aroon school model of the holistic concept of "value learning." This chapter discusses how the compassionate coaching and reflection process inspires and encourages the whole school system change.]
