ABSTRACT

[abstract: This chapter examines the spiritual dimension of holistic education. Spirituality is understood, here, as pertaining to the relational dimension of being, expressed as the connectedness individuals experience with others. It examines the characteristics of a plural, global world that impact negatively on children and young people’s well-being and argues that nurturing the spiritual dimension in education may have relevance in addressing these issues. Finally, some guidelines will be offered for a holistic approach that will address the spiritual dimension of learning. ]
