ABSTRACT

[abstract: This chapter describes the doctoral program in Pedagogical Mediation and Education at La Universidad de La Salle in Costa Rica. Founded on the ideas of Francisco Gutierrez, the program builds upon the scientific and humanistic understandings emerging from the “new holonomic sciences” and from a more ecological view of the world. It is a participatory model that places an emphasis on feeling, the subjective experience of the individual, the pedagogical relationship where each is a teacher and a student, and creative expression as a vehicle for dialogue and sharing. Aligned with a holistic perspective, it contributes to a new and unique vision of education in Latin America.]
