ABSTRACT
In the case of forthtelling, the spiritual power that attends the Divine oracles is very noticeable. The conviction, the comfort, the illumination, the guidance they bring is easily perceived and felt. No other hook can thus be compared to the Bible. It is ever fresh and pungent in its effects, and although it has been written under conditions and in countries, and in times far different to our own, it has not lost any of its power, and will never do so, as long as there are souls found who need a light to show them the way to God. On the Day of Pentecost, Peter made the statement that the speaking in tongues in Jerusalem was of a prophetic nature, because, as far as we can see, there was no prophetic speaking of the kind we classify with prophetic speech, but merely tongues.
