ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT:   With the soar of the energy price and the increasingly serious environmental problems, the energy efficiency of manufacturing is becoming the focus of academia and industry gradually. It is able to provide theoretical basis and decision support for process planning and the energy-saving optimization of cutting parameters to master energy consumption characteristics. While the relationship between the energy consumption and the material removal rate has been conducted, the research on the influence characteristics of the cutting parameters on the energy consumption of machining process is still lacking. Therefore, this paper proposes a cutting parameter model of the energy consumption of the machine tools, and then discusses the influence characteristics of the cutting parameters on the energy consumption under a specific machining process based on the proposed model, and at last the influence characteristics were verified by experiments.
