ABSTRACT

Kierkegaard. Los límites de la razón en la existencia humana is the second book by Mexican scholar Luis Guerrero. Although the book has a central theme, namely, the relationship between faith and reason in Kierkegaard's thought, the author begins by offering the reader a general contextualization of the historical and philosophical background in which the work of Kierkegaard developed. The statement with which Guerrero concludes is in fact the same main thesis suggested throughout the entire book, that is, faith-through which the individual relates to God-implies an overcoming of reason. Once the concept of freedom has been set forth, the notions of anxiety and despair emerge; these, in turn, require a proper understanding of the concept of sin. Thus, each topic in this monograph calls attention to Kierkegaard's interest in establishing limits for reason. This book is undoubtedly a pillar of scholarly Kierkegaard studies in Latin America.
