ABSTRACT

Over a two-year period, Lennart Koskinen undertook a massive research program whereby he reportedly read through each and every one of Kierkegaard's published works. The fruits of this intense study was the dissertation Tid och evighet hos Sören Kierkegaard: En studie i Kierkegaards livsåskådning, which was published in 1980. Koskinen's overall aim in the book is to respond to what he perceives as a need within Kierkegaard research for a study that ties together in a single volume. In Part One, Koskinen carries out significant definitional and conceptual work in relation to the notions of reality, time, eternity, and the moment. In Part Two, Koskinen focuses on a couple of central connections Kierkegaard draws between time and the human being. In Part Three, Koskinen turns to the issue of history. In the final assessment, Koskinen's book provides a clear and substantive discussion of Kierkegaard's various remarks on time and eternity.
