ABSTRACT

In Hungary, more or less overtly acknowledged priorities still prevail when funds come to distribution among civic organizations. In fact, many of the public institutions running under the heading civic or non-profit organizations, and some are coined as civic organizations with high public benefit by law, a title that could be acquired upon various criteria, either by formal means or informally, such as by political ties. Initiatives of two major successor groups made their way to establish new forms of journals and institutions that later affected the intellectual profile of the Faculty of Arts, having direct or indirect effects until the present. Music and the philharmonic traditions have also been deeply rooted in the city's cultural and educational soil. Also due to the quality education in music, rock bands and other groups are also popular among the young in highly frequented clubs.
