ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book argues that the result of a longstanding pattern of political manipulation and poor governance. It also argues that the idea of integrating armed groups as pillars of all types of peace agreements, from local to national, has become a central element of the cycle of violence that is entrenched in South Sudanese politics. The book discusses the problematic parameters offer elaborate and perhaps even over-borrowed provisions and terms from liberal democratic constitutions, to frame the civic and political principles of South Sudan's transitional constitution, including welfare, freedom, equality, and affirmative action. It also discusses the beginning of a country's trajectory to statehood what is required is effective leadership that is visionary and inclusive. The book examines how land has been at the core of violent conflict in South Sudan for many decades.
