ABSTRACT

The trend surface filtering method adopts the polynomial surface function to fit the trend of submarine topography by using the depth and plane position of the seabed beam footprints. If the natural neighboring points range is used as the trend surface fitting range and when there are tiny landscapes or small obstructions, which the multi-beam sounding system can detect at the bottom of the sea, it is not easy to be regarded as a gross error out. The local surface of any discrete point’s nature neighborhood points range is shown by using the complete quadratic parabolic in the local coordinate system. For the complex submarine topography surface, if the natural neighboring points range is used as the range of the trend surface fitted, the submarine topography surface can be divided into several small local ranges. The method of trend surface filtering is carried out by using the polynomial surface function to fit the terrain surface.
