ABSTRACT
Tomasz Jeż describes the effects of the Jesuit missions on the musical culture of the European homelands, which are surprisingly little-known. From the varied occurrences of colonial figures and stories in the Jesuit musical theatre, he concludes that ‘the presence of the topic of global missions in Jesuit school plays must have influenced the consciousness and worldview of many generations of young people.’
