ABSTRACT

In this work, angled abutments of single-dental implants are studied using advanced discretization techniques, namely, the Finite Element Method (FEM), the Radial Point Interpolation Method (RPIM) and the Natural Neighbor Radial Point Interpolation Method (NNRPIM). The objective is to compare the stress fields obtained in four distinct abutment/implant configurations, both in the bone tissue and in the implant, in order to study the effect of the angulation. Additionally, this study aims to evaluate the main differences between the results obtained with the distinct numerical methods considered.
