ABSTRACT

In order to best control the projection deformations, this paper studied an amended Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, which could synchronous search multi-dimensional solution spaces those with large differences in magnitudes. To estimate the advantages of this new method, a contrast calculation between PSO algorithm and traditional optimization scheme was made subsequently. When using this modified PSO algorithm presented in this paper, the maximum deformation is 2.04 cm/km. This result indicate that both the location of the central meridian and the mean geodetic height within a same region affect the projection deformations. It could decrease affections of a certain central meridian longitude on projection deformations and expand the permitted differences of geodetic heights of a surveying area.
