ABSTRACT
Soft coal mine gas accidents happen frequently; the experiments in the mine were difficult and the success rate to obtain the coal core was low, and so we chose the soft coal sample and a similar material sample of briquette as the research object. The STY-6 permeability measuring system was applied to the comparison study on the permeability dif ference between the soft coal sample and the similar material coal sample with the method of changing the confining pressure and the gas pressure. The results show that the permeability of the soft coal sample and the similar material coal sample would have the same variation tendency when the confining pressure and the gas pressure changed. With the increase of confining pressure and gas pressure, the permeability presented a quadratic polynomial function. The study lays a foundation to build a physical model by using the developed material and carried out gas extraction, gas outburst, and other physical simulation experiments.
