ABSTRACT

It provides the leaders with greater understanding into the challenges associated with getting the information they desperately need in a timely manner, and strategies for altering the approach and/or management of the data functions to eliminate or reduce those challenges so as to yield more timely results for decision-making. The chapter looks at some of the reasons that chaos and complexity arise. It discusses the challenges and issues associated with managing the chaos so to provide background and context for helping to solve those problems. The chapter aggregates some practical suggestions and guidance for managing both, and shows the discrepancies between transactional and official data.
