ABSTRACT
The studies we have included here look at women and higher education—women as students in universities and graduate institutions, women as professors and academics, and the attitudes of women students (as well as male students toward women). Like other sections of this bibliography, there are a number of studies of women and the workforce and women and the professions which study women who have obtained higher education. We have not listed them here unless they study women when they are students in higher education or focus directly on the higher education of women (versus studies of women’s educational backgrounds). However, most of the studies of professional women are studies of women who have received higher education and the reader should look carefully at the studies included in that section of the bibliography.
