ABSTRACT

This chapter and the accompanying video demonstrations illustrate a real-world discourse analysis project undertaken in ATLAS.ti. The contributing authors are Trena M. Paulus, Professor of Qualitative Research Methods and Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies at the University of Georgia, and Mary Alice Varga, Assistant Professor at The University of West Georgia. The chapter describes the context of the project, the research objectives, the guiding methodology, and the analytic plan, which unfolds in four stages. The videos include dialogue with Dr. Paulus about the pros and cons of possible alternative choices for fulfilling the analytic plan using ATLAS.ti.
