ABSTRACT

This chapter describes how ATLAS.ti is designed, how it works, and how it is presented on the screen. Taken together these are usually called the program’s features, but we describe ATLAS.ti in terms of its components, or the things in the program that can be acted on. This is because components play a significant role in the Five-Level QDA translation process, and also because components provide a simpler way to describe how the program works. We describe the purpose of each component and how it works and provide a video orientation to each component in order to make concrete the conceptual information about each component.
