ABSTRACT

Today, the world is going through unifying expansion where a flow of ex­ changes, technologies, information and messages go from one side of the planet to another in a very short period of time. This is what we call a proc­ ess of globalization. The main feature of this so called globalization or unifying expansion is a commercialism brought through evolution of the mass media, especially TV, which generates a desire to own properties and exploit their subsequent profits. Among the many developments that have affected the consumer society, two in particular are important. On one side, the increasing evolution of the popular fashion industry has heightened the speed of consumption, not only in terms of clothes, ornaments and design, but also on a wide range of life styles and entertainment activities, such as sports or leisure.
