ABSTRACT

Integration of Israeli women, especially Arab women in senior management positions, is marginal. Stereotypical attitudes, ethnocentric values and excluding behaviors of the ‘other’ still prevail in organizations. Drawing on two bodies of literature – the role of diversity in teams’ decision-making and gender perspective on management – and our empirical studies, the proposed chapter will explicate Israeli Jewish and Arab women’s experiences in TMTs. What roles do they actually play? How do they express their voices and exert influence? The chapter will examine and discuss phenomena such as in-group favoritism, faultlines, intersectionality and the role of academic socialization in TMT dynamics.
